Claude Mangin är gift med en marockansk demokratiaktivist, fängslad i Marocko, och NSO Groups spyware Pegasus användes för att hacka hennes iPhone. Analyser av Claude Mangins telefon visar att Pages har använts för att stjäla information, vid flera tillfällen.
Det är Amnesty International som gått igenom och analyserat Claude Mangins iPhone. Analyses visar att med stir sannolikhet så har Pegasus använts för att infektera telefonen och Göran det möjligt för behöriga att Samoa in data från den. Analyserna visar att data har så last in när Claude Mangin varit på besök i Frankrike.
The text delivered last month to the iPhone 11 of Claude Mangin, the French wife of a political activist jailed in Morocco, made no sound. It produced no image. It offered no warning of any kind as an iMessage from somebody she didn’t know delivered malware directly onto her phone — and past Apple’s security systems.
Once inside, the spyware, produced by Israel’s NSO Group and licensed to one of its government clients, went to work, according to a forensic examination of her device by Amnesty International’s Security Lab. It found that between October and June, her phone was hacked multiple times with Pegasus, NSO’s signature surveillance tool, during a time when she was in France.

Telefonen och tjänsten döptes till Anom och med hjälp av kriminella lyckades FBI marknadsföra telefonen som ett säkert att kommunicera – mellan kriminella. Allt skulle vara skyddat, krypterat och säkert men FBI avlyssnade allt.
FBI hade skapat en ”honey pot”, en hongskruka, där allt kunde avlyssnas, samtal, meddelanden, mail – allt. I grunden var det en helt vanlig Android-telefon men med en app, Anom som ledde till en inloggningsrutan och här skulle det finnas en krypteringstekniken som skyddade allt i telefonen.

Telefonen anger däremot inte att den körs med Android utan ArcaneOS, ett operativsystem som få har hört talas om – om de inte är en av köparna av en Anom-telefon. Det finns en del inställningar i telefonen – alla ser ut att vara kopplade till olika säkerhetsfunktioner. Det är bara det att ingen av inställningarna egentligen gör någonting mer än lurar ägaren av telefonen till att tro att kommunikationen är krypterad och skyddad.

Google var, i starten, ett rätt vildvuxet företag med en sökmotor i botten som drog in pengar och sedan kastade sig sökjätten rätt in i projekt efter projekt. Ibland lades projekten ganska snabbt ned, ibland höll Google ut och försökte få igång tjänsten, produkten eller programmet innan projektet skrotades. Google var en smula mer vildvuxet än det är nu, under Sundar Pichai.

The Guardian har tagit sig en titt på Internet, på sociala tjänster och vilka som hamstrar våra data. Den sociala mediejätten inte bara samlar in våra data – Facebook försöker också på alla sätt se till att ta sig in på nya marknader med gratistjänster.
Sounds good, eh? But a recent study by researchers at the University of California, Irvine, on how Discover works in the Philippines (where it has replaced Free Basics) found that not all websites seemed to be stripped for onward viewing. When accessing Facebook through Discover, for example, it wasn’t stripped much – just 4% of images were removed from Instagram, compared with more than 65% of images on other popular sites such as YouTube and e-commerce platform Shopee. The inference was that Discover rendered Facebook’s own services far more functional than those of its competitors. Charged with this, the company blamed a “technical error” that had since been resolved.

Adam Frank är professor i astrofysik vid universitetet i Rochester, USA. Nyligen fick han och hans kollegor att enslig från den amerikanska rymdflygstyrelsen, NASA, för att leta efter liv i rymden. Adam Frank är inte imponerad av UFOs och med skärpa skjuter han ned tron på att det skulle vara små gröna män.
UFO – oidentifierade flygande föremål är inte gärna män. Det är flygande föremål som vi inte har kunnat identifiera vad det är.
I understand that U.F.O. sightings, which date back at least to 1947, are synonymous in the popular imagination with evidence of extraterrestrials. But scientifically speaking, there is little to warrant that connection. There are excellent reasons to search for extraterrestrial life, but there are equally excellent reasons not to conclude that we have found evidence of it with U.F.O. sightings.
Adam Frank är inte heller särskilt imponerad av hur dessa påstått högintelleigenta besökare så kapitalt misslyckas med att dölja sina besök.
There are also common-sense objections. If we are being frequently visited by aliens, why don’t they just land on the White House lawn and announce themselves? There is a recurring narrative, perhaps best exemplified by the TV show “The X-Files,” that these creatures have some mysterious reason to remain hidden from us. But if the mission of these aliens calls for stealth, they seem surprisingly incompetent. You would think that creatures technologically capable of traversing the mind-boggling distances between the stars would also know how to turn off their high beams at night and to elude our primitive infrared cameras.
