New Phishing Tactic Targeting Facebook Users Relies on Padding URLs with Hyphens
Security researchers from PhishLabs have come across a new phishing trend that’s targeting mobile device owners exclusively, with ”the highest proportion of attacks” aimed at Facebook users.This new tactic relies on the fact that mobile browsers have very narrow URL address bars, whoch prevents users from viewing the entire contents of a link. Phishers are taking advantage of this UI inconvenience to pad URLs with subdomains and hyphens, making some links look authentic on mobile devices.For example, take the following URL, seen by PhishLabs experts in real-world attacks.hxxp://m.facebook.com—————-validate—-step1.rickytaylk[dot]com/sign_in.htmlThe real domain of this website is rickytaylk.com, and not ”m.facebook.com”. Because a mobile browser will show only the first part of the URL, users will see only the ”m.facebook.com” section, followed by an endless stream of hyphens.

EU-kommitté föreslår end-to-end kryptering
EUs Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs arbetar just nu på ett förslag till hur EUs medborgare ska skyddas och kommittén kan komma att föreslå kraftfull end-to-end kryptering.
Kommittén har lämnat ett första utkast, ett förslag till ny lagstiftning.
Confidentiality of electronic communications ensures that information exchanged between parties and the external elements of such communication, including when the information has been sent, from where, to whom, is not to be revealed to anyone other than to the parties involved in a communication.
The principle of confidentiality should apply to current and future means of communication, including calls, internet access, instant messaging applications, e-mail, internet phone calls and messaging provided through social media.

Det finns ett lagligt skydd för individens privatliv som regleras i EUs regler för grundläggande rättigheter som den nya lagen ska vila på. Kommittén vill inte bara skydda den information som skickas utan även den metadata som genereras i samband med att du kommunicerar med andra, avsändare och mottagare, vanor, intressen och annat som skulle kunna utläsas av användandet.
Kommittén går långt i sina förslag och inkluderar även ett direkt förbud mot bakdörrar.
The providers of electronic communications services shall ensure that there is sufficient protection in place against unauthorised access or alterations to the electronic communications data, and that the confidentiality and safety of the transmission are also guaranteed by the nature of the means of transmission used or by state-of-the-art end-to-end encryption of the electronic communications data.
Furthermore, when encryption of electronic communications data is used, decryption, reverse engineering or monitoring of such communications shall be prohibited. Member States shall not impose any obligations on electronic communications service providers that would result in the weakening of the security and encryption of their networks and services’
Starkt skydd

The story of how Nricco Iseppi, a master falconer, came to Riot Games has, among the companys staff, acquired the malleability of myth. According to one scriptwriter, it began when Riot had an orange grove planted on its multimillion-dollar campus, in Los Angeles, a place already bristling with perks and mod cons: free canteens, a lecture hall, a loaded bar, an outdoor chess board replete with Oompa Loompa-size pieces. The grove attracted pigeons, whoch dropped guano willy-nilly, and so the companys facilities manager sought the services of a bird of prey. Or maybe, another employee told me, Iseppi was brought on to deal with the rats, whoch had taken to foraging in the fragrant canteen trash. Actually, a third said, the falconer arrived before anyone else. He was just always there.
