SAN FRANCISCO In April, Wan Ling Martello, the head of Nestlé in Asia, found herself seated across from Arianna Huffington, an Uber director and a founder of The Huffington Post, at the Union Square Cafe in Manhattan.Over dinner, the two women who had met just a few months earlier chatted about a food recall that Ms. Martello had handled. As Ms. Martello described her salvage and recovery efforts, she said, Ms. Huffington began listening more closely. Ms. Huffington then wondered aloud whether Ms. Martello would be interested in helping Uber, whoch was dealing with a string of scandals, before whipping out her phone to call people at the ride-hailing company.Less than two months later, Ms. Martello had joined the board.I did not expect to be asked about Uber at that dinner, and I dont think it was on Ariannas agenda, she said. It was only their second meeting. The whole meeting was casual: Lets just hang out.Recruiting Ms. Martello is the sort of swift, behind-the-scenes power play that has propelled Ms. Huffington to become Ubers most influential independent board member. In the 14 months since she joined the board, Ms. Huffington has acted as the public voice addressing the companys workplace scandals, talked to employees and helped woo executives. She has also become one of the closest confidantes to Travis Kalanick, Ubers chief executive.

Twitter blocks a slew of Venezuela government accounts
Venezuela has been accused of censoring Twitter as part of its bid to silence dissent, but it’s not so happy now that the shoe is on the other foot. The country’s leadership says that Twitter has suspended 180 accounts linked to the government, including radio and TV outlets in the presidential palace. While it’s not clear what prompted the move, officials are furious — President Maduro claims that Twitter blocked accounts ”simply for being Chavistas,” or supporters of his late predecessor Hugo Chavez.Maduro isn’t calling for a boycott of Twitter, though. The ”battle on social media” is too important, he says. He insists that Twitter took down ”thousands” of accounts (there’s no firm evidence of this), and that Venezuela would respond by opening ”10,000 or more” accounts in response.

Ikväll nolltställs alla gym i Pokémon GO
Ikväll så kommer Niantic att nollställa alla gym vilket innebär att dina Pokémons kommer tillbaka till sina ägare och att alla gym töms.
Det är en förberedelse inför uppdateringen av hela gymfunktionen som kommer att rullas ut globalt ut direkt efter det att gymmen nollställts. Niantic har inte och säger sig inte kunna ange någon exakt tid men räknar med att det ska göras under kontorstid, enligt den amerikanska västkustens tid. Det betyder att det blir någon gång under kvällen, svensk tid.
I don’t have an exact time. There’s a lot of moving pieces to this process so it would be hard to promise any timeframe. But I can say that it will likely happen within West Coast, USA business hours.

The biggest update to Pokémon GO is nearly here! Very soon, Trainers around the world will be able to participate in a revamped Gym gameplay experience, including the opportunity to join together with others to battle against powerful Pokémon in the new Raid Battle feature!
New Gym Features and Updates: Starting soon, Gyms are undergoing a major facelift. Youll soon be able to spin the Photo Disc at Gyms to acquire items just as you do at PokéStopsbut thats only the beginning. More updates to Gym battles are also just around the corner. Gyms are no longer based on Prestige and training. Instead, they now feature six permanent slots that can be filled by the controlling teams Pokémon. Each Pokémon assigned to these slots must be unique. For example, only one Blissey can be assigned to a Gym at a time. In addition, opposing teams will battle the Pokémon in the order they were assigned to the Gym.
At the heart of the update is a new motivation system that will significantly change how you interact with Gyms. When a Pokémon is assigned to a Gym, a motivation meter will be displayed. Pokémon assigned to defend a Gym lose motivation over time and as they are defeated in battle. As a Pokémon loses motivation, its CP will temporarily decrease, making it easier for opposing teams to defeat. To help keep the Pokémon motivated and in tip-top shape for their next battle, Trainers can treat their teams Pokémon to some Berries, whoch restore their motivation. If a Pokémon loses all motivation, it will leave the Gym and return to its Trainer the next time it loses a battle, so youll want to keep your teams Pokémon motivated by giving them Berries frequently!
New Items: After defeating a Raid Boss, youll receive a collection of rewards, including some new items obtained only by defeating a Raid Boss: Rare Candies, Golden Razz Berries, and two types of Technical MachinesFast and Charged. A Rare Candy is a mysterious candy that, when used on a Pokémon, turns into that Pokémons Candy. Golden Razz Berries will greatly increase your chances of catching a Pokémon you encounter in the wild and can also be given to a Pokémon assigned to a Gym to fully recover its motivation meter. Technical Machines are items you can use to permanently teach a Pokémon a new Fast Attack or Charged Attack.
To put these exciting changes in motion, well be temporarily disabling all Gyms. Once the update has been rolled out to players around the world, Gyms will return. The Raid Battle feature will then be rolled out slowly over the next few weeks, starting as a beta, with raids visible only to a subset of players at certain Gym locations. Over a few days, well invite more players to participate and enable raids at more Gyms around the world. Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates on when youll be able to start battling in raids. We cant wait to see you outside battling at your local Gyms!

. Räder är ett nytt inslag där du tillsammans med andra kan attackera ett gym. Varje gym kommer att ha en Pokémon som anses vara chef (boss). Innan en räd startar så avslöjas det med ett stort ägg som kläcks i toppen av gymmet. För att kunna attackera ett gym i en räd krävs ett gympass som du får maximalt ett per dag genom att besöka ett gym. Besegrar du en gymboss så kan du själv fånga ens speciellt stark Pokémon.
Räd-funktionen kommer sedan att rullas ut stegvis, över hela världen.
Den nya gym-funktionen kommer alltså en dag innan det nuvarande eventet avslutas vilket blir imorgon kväll någon gång mellan 21.00 och 22.00.
