Apple has been including Portrait Mode on iPhone models with only one back camera since the iPhone XR, but the iPhone Air is the first one to get a fully-featured Portrait Mode.

A brief history

When Apple introduced the iPhone XR, one of the headlining features was how it could take “dramatic portraits using a single camera lens”. However, these portraits were limited to just people and pets. So, if you wanted to take a portrait photo of something like a flower, you could not.

Similarly, the 2020 and 2022 iPhone SE models were also limited to taking portrait photos of just people and pets. And most recently, the iPhone 16e featured the same limitation.

Six decades have now passed since some of the most iconic Project Gemini spaceflights. The 60th anniversary of Gemini 4, when Ed White conducted the first US spacewalk, came in June. The next mission, Gemini 5, ended just two weeks ago, in 1965. These missions are now forgotten by most Americans, as most of the people alive during that time are now deceased.

Apple Music Sing gets its own app icon in tvOS 26, but it’s the same Music app

Apple Music Sing has been available for years as a way to enjoy karaoke with the existing Apple Music library.

You can use the feature across any supported Apple device, but Apple TV 4K makes for an especially ideal platform since large screens and karaoke parties go hand in hand.

In tvOS 26 and iOS 26, the feature gets even better too. Apple has a fresh upgrade that lets you use your iPhone as the karaoke mic.

Following Tuesday’s event, new Liquid Glass icons for Apple Store, Clips, GarageBand, iMovie, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages have surfaced on Apple’s iPhone tech spec pages. The new icons appear on the iPhone 16 tech specs page despite that model having no hardware changes, and existing users will presumably see the new icons in app updates that will roll out on Monday alongside iOS 26.
