Apple’s macOS Sequoia has apparently caused problems for users of third-party security products and web browsers because of firewall-related issues within the new operating system.

On Monday, Apple officially launched macOS Sequoia, making the new operating system finally available to the public. While the operating system introduces a variety of enhancements and features such as Apple Intelligence, the update appears to have caused issues and concerns for certain security-related products and applications.

According to a Thursday report from TechCrunch, macOS Sequoia has affected the functionality of different security tools, developed by CrowdStrike and SentinelOne, among others.

IBM has reportedly laid off thousands

IBM announced earlier this year that it would have layoffs, and that now appears to have occurred. Analyst attributes it to cloud/on-prem rebalancing, not genAI-related. But look for GenAI layoffs in early 2026.

IBM has apparently begun layoffs of as many as 8,000 people — layoffs that were announced back in January. But those layoffs are avoiding the age-related criticisms of IBM’s past and are also too early to reflect the IBM-promised generative artificial intelligence (genAI) layoffs, according to Jason Andersen, a former IBM manager who today serves as VP/principal analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy.

Apple continues its tradition of decking out the Fifth Avenue store ahead of product launches, this time with glowing rainbow colors signifying Apple Intelligence on iPhone 16.

The iPhone 16 lineup launches around the world on Friday, and Apple is ready with decor representing a feature that won’t launch publicly for a few weeks. Despite that, Apple has leaned heavily into promoting the AI features for the lineup.

The glowing Fifth Avenue store was shared by X account @RetailArchive and first discovered by 9to5Mac. The glowing cube decor is reminiscent of the Apple Vision Pro launch when it built a giant model of the headset.
