The Usual Suspects
Antalet attacker har gått ned på nätet under de senaste veckorna. Nu avser jag inloggningsförsök och intrångsförsök riktade mot WordPress och som räknas in och noteras av WordFence nätverk.
Låt mig direkt säga att det här inte är hackare och att de egentligen inte utgör något större hot. Det är scriptkiddies, snorungar, som roar sig med att försöka att hacka och ta över andras webbplatser.
Attacker
Deras attacker är inte särskilt sofistikerade utan de försöker gissa lösenord för att kunna logga in. De kör script mot en webbplats för att se om den uppdaterats och om alla buggfixar finns på plats. De letar efter kända säkerhetshål med hjälp av script som de förmodligen inte ens skrivit själva.
Det är också ”the usual suspects” samma länder som dyker upp hela tiden, Ryssland, USA, Indien, Frankrike, Brasilien och Italien.
Betyder det att det här är speciellt drabbade länder och att användare från de länderna är mer oärliga än andra?
Nej, det betyder att det är stora länder, inget annat, och det är inte ens säkert att trafiken verkligen kommer därifrån.
Buggrapporteringen
Deras attacker följer buggrapporteringen och uppdateringarna. När WordPress precis har uppdaterats så ökar försöken.
Stäng ned din WordPress-webbplats med WordFence, slå på tvåfaktor inloggning och blockera alla länder som du inte behöver logga in ifrån. Case closed. Du har just stängt ned din webbplats för 99 procent av alla attacker och Inloggningsförsök.
Den sista procenten är de riktiga hackarna. De kriminella och bedragarna. De är inte intresserad av din blogg så de kan du faktiskt bortse ifrån.
Med en enda plugin kan du hålla koll på och hålla the usual suspects borta.

Jay Z, ägare till musiktjänsten Tidal, har dragit tillbaka alla sina soloalbum från Spotify och Apple Music.
Nu finns bara musik och låtar där Jay Z har arbetat tillsammans med andra artister kvar på de två konkurrerande musiktjänsterna. Jay Zs album finns däremot på den egna tjänsten Tidal.
Jay Z co-owns Tidal, a rival streaming music service, so his decision to remove his discography from Apple Music could be for competitive reasons. Kanye West, another stakeholder in Tidal, also implied that there might be some animosity between Apple and Jay Z in a series of tweets last year.
Jay Z’s albums appear to have been removed from Spotify recently as well, so his decision might be unrelated to any potential feud with Apple. Spotify on Twitter today said it can ”confirm that some of Jay Z’s catalogue has been removed at the request of the artist,” but it did not provide a specific reason.

Computer hack sets off 156 emergency sirens across Dallas | Reuters
A computer hack set off all the emergency sirens in Dallas for about 90 minutes overnight in one of the largest known breaches of a siren warning system, officials in the Texas city said on Saturday.Dallas’ 156 sirens, normally used to warn of tornadoes and other dangerous weather, were triggered at 11:42 p.m. CDT on Friday. The wailing did not end until 1:17 a.m. CDT on Saturday when engineers manually shut down the sirens’ radio system and repeaters, city Emergency Management Director Rocky Vaz said.”At this point, we can tell you with a good deal of confidence that this was somebody outside of our system that got in there and activated our sirens,” he told reporters.The breach in the city of 1.6 million people was believed to have originated in the area, city spokeswoman Sana Syed said in an emailed statement.
