New York Times har sammanställt öppna, offentliga uppgifter och även kommit över annan information om Donald Trumps affärsverksamhet under tio år.
Uppgifterna pekar mot en miljard dollar i förluster och Trumps egna uppgifter om vilken bra förhandlare han är, hur framgångsrik han och hur rik han är inte stämmer. Just nu pågår en hård politisk strid för att få ut Trumps deklarationer och Trump är den förste presidenten på länge som inte vill redovisa sin ekonomi och visa sina deklarationer.

By the time his master-of-the-universe memoir “Trump: The Art of the Deal” hit bookstores in 1987, Donald J. Trump was already in deep financial distress, losing tens of millions of dollars on troubled business deals, according to previously unrevealed figures from his federal income tax returns.
Mr. Trump was propelled to the presidency, in part, by a self-spun narrative of business success and of setbacks triumphantly overcome. He has attributed his first run of reversals and bankruptcies to the recession that took hold in 1990. But 10 years of tax information obtained by The New York Times paints a different, and far bleaker, picture of his deal-making abilities and financial condition.

Hackers breached 3 US antivirus companies, researchers reveal
In a report published Thursday, researchers at the threat-research company Advanced Intelligence (AdvIntel) revealed that a collective of Russian and English-speaking hackers are actively marketing the spoils of data breaches at three US-based antivirus software vendors. The collective, calling itself “Fxmsp,” is selling both source code and network access to the companies for $300,000 and is providing samples that show strong evidence of the validity of its claims.
Yelisey Boguslavskiy, director of research at AdvIntel, told Ars that his company notified “the potential victim entities” of the breach through partner organizations; it also provided the details to US law enforcement. In March, Fxmsp offered the data “through a private conversation,” Boguslavskiy said. “However, they claimed that their proxy sellers will announce the sale on forums.”

Oavsett vad eller hur de presenteras så dras vi till dem. The Guardians Anna Mellan har funderat över varför – vad är det som gör att så många dras till konspirationer?
In January 2015, I spent the longest, queasiest week of my life on a cruise ship filled with conspiracy theorists. As our boat rattled toward Mexico and back, I heard about every wild plot, secret plan and dark cover-up imaginable. It was mostly fascinating, occasionally exasperating and the cause of a headache that took months to fade. To my pleasant surprise, given that I was a reporter travelling among a group of deeply suspicious people, I was accused of working for the CIA only once.

To define trustworthiness, the company was testing how people responded to surveys about their impressions of different publishers. To define news, the engineers pulled a classification system left over from a previous project — one that pegged the category as stories involving “politics, crime, or tragedy.”
That particular choice, whoch meant the algorithm would be less kind to all kinds of other news — from health and science to technology and sports — wasn’t something Facebook execs discussed with media leaders in Davos. And though it went through reviews with senior managers, not everyone at the company knew about it either. When one Facebook executive learned about it recently in a briefing with a lower- level engineer, they say they “nearly fell on the fucking floor.”

KOMMENTAR. Nu är det klart. Nu finns det inte ens några formella hinder kvar. Nu är Upphovsrättsdirektivet, med Artikel 13, helt antaget.
Det finns mycket att säga, men framför allt två saker: Politiker och etablerade medier bär ett tungt ansvar för direktivets utformning.
Över 5 miljoner namnunderskrifter, hundratusentals demonstranter på gator och torg. Och parlamentsledamöter som berättar om fler mejl och starkare lobbytryck än som upplevts i någon annan fråga – någonsin.
