‘Dune: Prophecy’ Starts Filming a Longer Season 2, Casts ‘Game of Thrones’ Veteran

HBO is ready to return to the world of Dune.

The company just announced that spinoff Dune: Prophecyhas started production on a second season.

Unlike the six-episode first season, HBO is giving the series more episodes for its sophomore run: Eight episodes instead of six. The bump is notable as, if anything, the trend in the streaming era is to either order the same or fewer episodes per season — especially on a show that has received mixed reviews from critics and viewers.
