The European Union has announced details of new mandatory labels for smartphones and tablets sold in the bloc, which include ratings for energy efficiency, durability, and repairability. Hardware will also have to meet new “ecodesign requirements” to be sold in the EU, including a requirement to make spare parts available for repair.

The labels, which will be required for any devices that go on sale from June 20th onwards, are similar to existing ones for home appliances and TVs. They display the product’s energy efficiency rating, on a scale from A to G, along with battery life, the number of charge cycles the battery is rated for, letter grades for durability and repairability, and any applicable IP rating for protection from dust and water.

Drivers cruising along I-45 between Dallas and Houston may soon spot semi-trucks with no one behind the wheel. Pittsburgh-based autonomous vehicle company Aurora Innovation is launching fully driverless operations along this busy 200-mile stretch.

According to Axios, the company plans to start with a single autonomous truck and gradually expand its operations. The rollout marks one of the first real-world deployments of driverless freight trucks on public roads – something long promised but rarely delivered at scale.

In 2019, Garrett Mitchell was already an internet success. His YouTube channel, Cleetus McFarland, had over a million followers. If you perused the channel at that time, you would’ve found a range of grassroots motorsports videos with the type of vehicular shenanigans that earn truckloads of views. Some of those older videos include ”BLEW BY A COP AT 120+mph! OOPS!,” ”THERE’S A T-REX ON THE TRACK!,” and ”Manual Transmission With Paddle Shifters!?!.”

Those videos made Mitchell, aka Cleetus McFarland, a known personality among automotive enthusiasts. But the YouTuber wanted more financial independence beyond the Google platform and firms willing to sponsor his channel.
