US journalists handed in their Pentagon press badges in protest over new rules that could see reporters banned for citing even unclassified information if not officially approved.

Every major news organization — including those seen as broadly supportive of the Trump administration — gave their accreditation passes back; one veteran NPR defense correspondent said the rules would “make us stenographers parroting press releases.”

MTV, the world’s first 24-hour music broadcaster, is to stop showing rolling pop videos in the UK after almost 40 years when it closes five channels at the end of the year.

Apple today updated its iMessage troubleshooting support document to add a scenario that can occur in iOS 26. If you don’t activate iMessage or an eSIM when setting up a new iPhone with ‌iOS 26‌, it can prevent iMessage from working.

Apple says that iMessage does not activate automatically when setting up an eSIM in the Settings app after the initial ‌iPhone‌ setup period, so it needs to be done manually.

After activating an eSIM, users can open up the Settings app, tap on Apps, choose Messages, and then turn iMessage off and back on to get the feature to work as intended.

Iconic KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has died, aged 74.

According to a statement shared by his family, Ace – also known as Spaceman – died “peacefully surrounded by family in Morristown, New Jersey, following a recent fall at his home”. An exact cause of death has yet to be shared.

President Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton was indicted in Maryland on Thursday for allegedly mishandling classified information by sharing diary entries about his time in the White House with family members.

Bolton is the third prominent Trump critic to be indicted in recent weeks, following charges against former FBI Director James Comey for allegedly lying to Congress and New York Attorney General Letitia James for alleged mortgage fraud. All three have denied wrongdoing.
