US might extend cabin laptop ban worldwide, top official says – BBC News
WARS ARE RARELY announced in advance, but President Trump provided an abundance of warning about his intention to wage an assault on journalism. During the election campaign, he called journalists an enemy of the people and described media organizations he didnt like as fake news. You can pretty much draw a direct line between his words and the actions weve seen lately whoch include journalists physically prevented from asking questions of officials, arrested when trying to do so, and in a now-famous example from Montana, body-slammed to the ground by a Republican candidate who didnt want to discuss his partys position on healthcare.

Identity thieves used stolen data 9 minutes after it was posted online
When personal data is dumped online, it can take just nine minutes for bad guys to start using it, according to a report from the Federal Trade Commission.Over the course of three weeks in April and May, the FTC analyzed what happens when hacked personal data is shared online.Researchers created 100 fake consumers and gave them fictitious personal information like names, emails and passwords, and either a credit card, Bitcoin wallet, or online payment account. Then they posted the collection of data on a site popular with leaking stolen credentials, once on April 27 and a second time on May 4.According to Dan Salsburg, acting chief at the FTC’s Office of Technology Research and Investigation, the the FTC observed two types of identity thieves — those who want to test credit cards’ authenticity to resell them, and those who tried making big purchases on things like clothing or hotels.

Somaliasamtalen fortsätter strömma in | SVT Nyheter
Och samtalen fortsätter strömma in även under söndagen. Flera läsare har även rapporterat att de under söndagen blivit uppringda från nummer som börjar med +225, vilket är Elfenbenskustens landsnummer.

Why do hackers always wear hoodies? Behind the stereotype
When portraying hackers, hoodies are everyone’s favorite stereotype: From TV shows, to movies, to articles on CNN.There are many types of hacking — from ”white hats” who find vulnerabilities to protect users, to ”black hats” who try and make money off of stolen data. But they all, apparently, wear the same clothes and hack in dark rooms while ones and zeroes scroll across the screen.Hoodies and other stereotypes — like a hacker in a basement, or young geniuses taking on the man without their parents’ knowledge — are rooted in authenticity. For instance, the phrase ”script-kiddie” is used to describe people who take code written by other people and use it to launch their own hacks. The term was coined in the early ’90s when the Department of Justice was prosecuting teenagers (literally kids) for cybercrimes.
