Apple reportedly delayed ’Carpool Karaoke’ due to foul language

When Apple delayed the release of ’Carpool Karaoke,’ it wasn’t very clear on why. According to a report at Bloomberg, though, the tech titan had to edit and shoot additional episodes because the ones that were ready had too much ”foul language and references to vaginal hygiene.” We’re not sure why Apple thought a show featuring celebrities and comedians driving around Los Angeles would be squeaky-clean, but there it is. We’ve reached out to Apple and will update this post when we hear back.

Apple CarPlay is moving beyond the car and into the motorcycle.Honda this week announced its new 2018 Gold Wing, the first bike to come equipped with Apple’s infotainment system. It will arrive next February and start at $23,500.FURTHER READINGOne week with Apple’s CarPlayAs noted by CNET’s Road Show blog, CarPlay’s implementation on the Gold Wing is a bit different from what it looks like on a four-wheeled automobile. The bike includes a 7-inch LCD display that shows the usual iOS-style interface, but it’s not touch-enabled. Instead, you can use a four-way joystick on the left grip or a rotary controller on the tank to get around. The latter could be tricky to manage when you’re actually on the move, but from there, you can access the usual Apple Maps, personal music libraries, iMessages, and the like.

Twitter’s new hate and violence policies go into effect November 22nd

Just a couple of weeks ago, Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey responded to the #WomenBoycotTwitter movement on his company’s microblogging platform with a promise to help Twitter ”take a more aggressive stance” toward hate speech and sexual harassment. A few days after that, an internal email showed that the company was taking the promises seriously and widening its crackdown on violent groups and abusive content. The company just tweeted that its new policies will launch on November 22nd.

Just in time for Halloween, a growing hacked device botnet named ”Reaper” could put the internet in the dark.Over a million internet-connected cameras and routers have already been infected, researchers with the Israeli-based firm Check Point says — and the number is growing.”Our research suggests we are now experiencing the calm before an even more powerful storm,” they warned last week. ”The next cyber hurricane is about to come.”

”Botnets” consist of vast networks of thousands and even millions of computers that have been infected with malware, enslaving them to do someone else’s bidding. They can be commanded — usually without their owners’ knowledge — to provide the raw computing power to take down websites and launch further cyberattacks.
