You can now change your Apple ID from a third-party email to an Apple domain | 9to5Mac
Astro HQ has made a name for itself with its innovative drawing apps on iOS. Just this month, the company showcased a new feature for its AstroPad Studio app that essentially turned the front-face camera into a newfound button for iPad users. The company today announced, however, that Apple has rejected that idea
The feature was actually pretty neat. You simply tapped the lens of the front camera on the iPad to activate various menus and interfaces on screen. On the surface, it seems like a great way to free up additional screen space something thats crucial in drawing and design applications like AstroPad Studio. The feature was also destined for AstroPads Luna Display app that we went hands on with back in August.

You can now change your Apple ID from a third-party email to an Apple domain | 9to5Mac
Apple today has made a notable update to the process of changing the email address associated with your Apple ID. Starting today, you can change your Apple ID from a third-party email service such as Gmail or Yahoo to an Apple domain
Previously, Apple only allowed users to change their Apple ID email from one third-party provider to another. For instance, if your Apple ID was associated with a Yahoo email address, you could switch it to a Gmail address and vice versa. You couldnt, however, go from Gmail/Yahoo to @iCloud.com.As Apple notes in an updated support document, you can now make the shift. The company explains that if your Apple ID is currently associated with a Gmail or Yahoo email address, you can now switch to an@iCloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com account.

iOS 11.2 beta brings SiriKit commands to Apple’s unreleased HomePod
The first iOS 11.2 beta launched earlier on Monday enables SiriKit for third-party developers working on HomePod support, according to Apple.
”Siri recognizes SiriKit requests made on HomePod and sends those requests to the user’s iOS device for processing,” Apple wrote on a dedicated webpage. Only commands involving SiriKit’s Messaging, Lists, and Notes functions will work on a HomePod, despite the greater freedom available on iPhones and Apple Watches.

Facebook has again denied eavesdropping on conversations to target adverts, following persistent speculation on the part of users who have received suspiciously timed promotional messages.Rob Goldman, the head of advertising at the social network, issued the denial in response to a question from the host of tech podcast Reply All. I run ads product at Facebook. We dont and have never used your microphone for ads. Just not true, Goldman tweeted. He later added that the denial holds true for Facebooks other social network, Instagram, as well. The allegation that Facebook secretly spies on users to better profile them for advertising is long-running and hard to kill for the social network. The rumour appears to have started in May 2014 when the company launched a feature for its smartphone app called Identify TV and Music, whoch listens for ambient noise when a user is writing a status update.
