Germany bans children’s smartwatches

A German regulator has banned the sale of smartwatches aimed at children, describing them as spying devices.

It had previously banned an internet-connected doll called, My Friend Cayla, for similar reasons.

Telecoms regulator the Federal Network Agency urged parents who had such watches to destroy them.

One expert said the decision could be a ”game-changer” for internet-connected devices.

A “Gentleman Coder” who is the former director of the Apple photo apps teams has launched an IOS app for the photographer who prefers to shoot RAW images.

RAW Power for iOS hit the App Store this week from software company Gentlemen Coders LLC, whoch was founded by Nik Bhatt. His 14-year stint in Cupertino included being Senior Director of Engineering for the Aperture and iPhoto teams and later the Chief Technical Officer of the Photo Apps group.

RAW Power for iOS is a free download with some one-time in-app purchases for more advanced editing tools.

London’s Old Vic theater says it has received allegations of ”a range of inappropriate behavior” against Kevin Spacey.

The theater said Thursday the 20 allegations deal with incidents between 1995 and 2013. The allegations follow an investigation that a law firm began in October, at the request of the theater, amid reports being circulated about Spacey’s behavior while artistic director.

Twitter’s chief executive has said a case in whoch an alleged serial killer is said to have lured victims by searching the social network for suicidal thoughts is ”extremely sad”.But Jack Dorsey added that it was not realistic to expect the service to auto-delete the kind of tweets said to have been involved.A 27-year-old man was arrested in Zuma, Japan, in October after nine people’s body parts were found in his flat.Newspapers call him the Twitter killer.Local reports claim Takahiro Shiraishi contacted his victims – the youngest of whom was 15 – via the social network by telling them he could help them die and in some cases claiming he would kill himself alongside them.
