Gratistipset: Murus Lite
Murus Lite är ett skal, extrafunktioner och ett verktyg för att ställa in den inbyggda brandväggen i macOS.
Lite-versionen är gratis och du kan köpa en Basic och en Pro-version om du har behov av det.
Murus Lite is the entry-level member of the Murus family. It’s a simple frontend for the OS X PF network firewall and features inbound filtering, bandwidth throttling, logging, presets, and port management. Interface is based on icons, LEDs, and collection views. Set the firewall rules by dragging-and-dropping icons and selecting checkboxes. No need to type code or to understand PF syntax. An expanded PF configuration view shows the PF ruleset with a clear representation of rules with icons, symbols, and dynamically generated comments for each rule. Murus Lite is free for both personal and commercial use.

Startup Manager tar bort oönskade startappar, webbläsartillägg, anpassade inloggningsskript, som tar upp minne och förlänger starttiden för din Mac.
Startup Manager visar alla de appar som körs vid inloggning. Donera att enbart appar som inte är Apples listas. Programmet håller reda på objekt som startas automatiskt; antingen under uppstart, under inloggning eller under en annan applikations start (t.ex. webbläsartillägg).

Trillian – a blast from the past – och ett program som jag använde rätt intensivt på den tid då det begav sig. Trillian klarade av att hantera en rad olika meddelandetjänsten, det gör det fortfarande, vilket gör det användbart för sig som annars måste ah flera olika program.
Sedan några år tillbaka såp finns Trillian även för Mac och det finns fortfarande en gratistjänst som du kan använda för att använda Trillian.
Trillian is a chat application that tries to integrate most of the major chat networks into one application. It allows you to connect, chat and manage your AIM, MobileMe, Bonjour, Facebook Chat, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MySpaceIM, Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger so you can communicate with friends using only one application. Skype is not currently supported.

Apple har uppdaterat sitt iWork-paket där Pages, Numbers och Keynote ingår. iWork, ett komplett office-paket, gratis för alla Apple-användare som köpt en Apple-pryl på senare år.
Paketet innehåller tre program:
- Pages – ordbehandlare
- Numbers – kalkyleringsprogram
- Keynote – grafisk presentationsprogram
iWork kan läsa in filer från Microsoft Office och flera andra liknande program – och du kan exportera filer till samma format. För de allra flesta så räcker iWork men använder du avancerade kalkyler (Excel) så är Numbers inte en likvärdig produkt. Numbers saknar bland annat helt det avancerade macrospråk som Excel innehåller.
Alla plattformar
På iOS har Keynote nu ett alternativ för att förstora bilder till en maximal zoomnivå på 400 procent, plus att det finns en ny funktion för att redigera teckenstorleken mer exakt med upp till två decimaler.
På Mac kan appen Genvägar användas för att skapa eller öppna presentationer, repetera ett bildspel eller börja presentera.

Instagram Threads, Meta’s X competitor, has now grown to over 350 million monthly active users, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed during the company’s Q1 2025 earnings call on Wednesday. That’s an increase of 30 million users since the prior quarter, where Meta reported that Threads had 320 million users.
The new figure represents increased growth, as Threads added 30 million in the first quarter of this year, compared with 20 million in Q4 2024. It’s also worth noting that in a single quarter, Threads added nearly the same number of users to its network as one of its newer competitors, Bluesky. The latter, a decentralized social app, today has roughly 35 million users.
