Hacker spy your data file
Regeringarna i Australien, Kanada, Cypern, Danmark, Israel och Singapore pekas ut som kunder och användare av spionprogrammet som utvecklats av det israeliska företaget Paragon Solutions, enligt en ny rapport från The Citizen Lab.
Bolaget Paragon, grundades 2019 av Ehud Barak och Ehud Schneorson, är tillverkare av ett övervakningsverktyg, Graphite som kan samla in känslig data från meddelande-program på en enhet.
Identifierat
The Citizen Lab säger att de har identifierat de sex regeringarna som ”misstänkta Paragon-kunder” efter att ha kartlagt serverinfrastrukturen som misstänks vara associerad med spionprogrammet. Det är också The Citizen Lab som hjälpt Apple i att analysera och underställa en rad incidenter får Pegaus och andra spionprogram använts för att spionera på advokater, medborgaraktivister och demokratiförespråkare io en rad olika länder.
Rapporten kommer drygt två månader efter det att Meta-ägda WhatsApp uppgav att de meddelat ett 90-tal journalister att de sa att de kunde vara offer för att ha blivit övervakade med Graphite. De attackerna och den kartläggningen ska avbrutits i december 2024.

During his first official campaign rally for the 2024 Republican nomination, held in Waco, Texas, Donald Trump vowed retribution against those he perceives as his enemies.
“I am your warrior,” he said to his supporters. “I am your justice. For those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution.”
Sixty days into Trump’s second term, we have begun to see what that looks like.
The president fired the archivist of the United States because he was enraged at the National Archives for notifying the Justice Department of his alleged mishandling of classified documents after he left office following his first term. (The archivist he fired hadn’t even been working for the agency at the time, but that didn’t matter.) He also fired two Democratic members of the Federal Trade Commission, a traditionally independent regulatory agency, in violation of Supreme Court precedent and quite likely the language of the statute that created it. (Both members plan to sue to reverse the firings.)

Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, has celebrated the communications platform hitting one billion monthly active users by calling rival WhatsApp a ”cheap, watered down imitation.” Durov recently returned to Dubai after spending several months in France due to a criminal investigation related to criminal activity on Telegram.
Durov revealed that Telegram had reached one billion monthly active users on his own personal channel. That marks an increase of 50 million users compared with last year. He also said that the company had recorded $547 million in profits in 2024.

President Donald Trump will reportedly order the shutdown of the Department of Education today.
Conservatives have long targeted the agency, accusing it of pushing progressive agendas in its curricula, and saying education policy should be handled at state level.
Actually closing the department may be difficult, though: Shutting down a cabinet-level government agency would require Democratic support to obtain the 60 votes required in the Senate, underscoring the limits of Trump’s apparent strategy of favoring headline-grabbing executive orders over legislative action.
