Over a billion RCS messages are sent on a daily basis in the United States, Google said today. ‌RCS‌, or Rich Communication Services, is a communication protocol that replaced the prior SMS and MMS messaging standards.

It was developed by the GSM Association, but Google has been championing it for years. Apple held out on adopting ‌RCS‌ for quite some time, but finally added support with the launch of iOS 18. On devices running ‌iOS 18‌, ‌RCS‌ is the default messaging protocol for texts between an iPhoneuser and an Android user.

Apple is preparing a major redesign of the iPhone to mark its 20th anniversary in 2027, according to a new report from South Korea’s ETNews. One of the standout features in development is a ”four-sided bending” display that could finally deliver a true bezel-less experience.

The display would curve around all four edges of the device, creating a seamless, all-screen front. This lines up with previous reports suggesting Apple is working toward a futuristic iPhone design for 2027, potentially featuring a display ”without any cutouts.” To achieve that, Apple would likely need to implement an under-display camera (UDC) and sensor array—technologies the company has been steadily developing.

Every year heading into WWDC, one thought on many Mac fans’ minds is what Apple will choose as the name for the next version of macOS. The tradition dates all the way back to the beginning of Mac OS X with its big cat names like Leopard, and Apple shifted to California-themed names with the unveiling of OS X Mavericks in 2013.

Back in 2014, we discovered more than 20 California-themed trademark applications filed by various limited-liability companies, which were all but certain to be shell companies created by Apple to hide its identity. Over time, some of the trademarks like Yosemite, Sierra, Mojave, Monterey, Mojave, Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia were indeed used as macOS names, while trademark applications for other names were abandoned.

It may have taken the slow route of almost a decade, but Taylor Sheridan’s action thriller F.A.S.T. is finally on the, um, fast track.

In a deal involving high-level talks between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount, Sheridan has navigated a feature package that includes Brendon Sklenar, the star of the multi-hyphenate’s hit 1923, and that series’ main director and renowned cinematographer Ben Richardson, to land at Warners.

And how fast is F.A.S.T. moving? Warners has set an April 23, 2027 theatrical release date.
