Amazon is cutting another 16,000 jobs as the technology giant continues to remake itself in “a world that’s changing faster than ever,” as noted in a memo to staff Wednesday from Beth Galetti, who leads human resources operations for the company.
“As I shared in October, we’ve been working to strengthen our organization by reducing layers, increasing ownership, and removing bureaucracy,” Galetti wrote. “While many teams finalized their organizational changes in October, other teams did not complete that work until now.”
As she noted, Amazon cut 14,000 jobs in October, meaning that the cuts will total 30,000 employees worldwide.
