Apple looks to be preparing an update to its MagSafe chargers, as new models supporting the forthcoming Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard have been spotted on Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) certification website. This discovery by 91mobiles suggests Apple users could see faster and more efficient wireless charging in the future.
The NCC filings detail two new MagSafe charger models, A3503 (2-meter cable) and A3502 (1-meter cable). While they retain the familiar white, round puck design, they now feature braided cables. Images from the certification indicate the puck is about 100mm in diameter. Markings on the device itself suggest it can deliver up to 45W (15V x 3A) when used with a compatible USB Power Delivery wall adapter. Testing documents also confirm these new chargers were evaluated with devices ranging from the iPhone 16 down to the iPhone 11, indicating broad compatibility, though actual charging speeds will likely vary by device.
