Adobe’s research and development arm, Adobe Labs, has just released a new experimental camera app for iPhone dubbed ’Project Indigo.’ The free app offers a look into the company’s approach to mobile imaging, combining a custom computational photography engine with a full suite of pro-level manual controls.
The app’s main function is to capture a rapid burst of photos when you press the shutter. It then automatically aligns and merges these frames into a single image, resulting in a final shot with noticeably less noise and greater dynamic range than a typical single exposure.
