The website signed a deal that’s ”worth about $60 million on an annualized basis” earlier this year, it reportedly told potential investors ahead of its expected initial public offering (IPO). Bloomberg didn’t name the ”large AI company” that’s paying Reddit millions for access to its content, but their agreement could apparently serve as a model for future contracts, which could mean more multi-million deals for the firm.

The paper [PDF], which includes voices from numerous academic institutions and several from OpenAI, makes the case that regulating the hardware these models rely on may be the best way to prevent its misuse.
Apple is working on a new AI tool for developers that will rival Github’s Copilot, according to a report from Bloomberg. The tool has been in development for the past year and will purportedly be available inside the next major version of Xcode.
The new system will operate similarly to Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot and use artificial intelligence to predict and complete blocks of code, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private. That simplifies the programming process for software development, potentially saving time and money.

Rod Stewart has sold his back catalogue for close to $100million (£79.3million).
The British music legend reached an agreement with Irving Azoff’s Iconic Artists, meaning the company now owns his publishing catalogue, recorded music and a stake of Stewart’s likeness and image rights.
The company, founded by music industry executive Azoff, has previously purchased the back catalogue of artists like the The Beach Boys, Cher and Dean Martin.
