Ron DeSantis’ war with Disney is escalating. The company sued the Florida governor in federal court this week and said his crusade against its special status in the state is politically motivated and a violation of the First Amendment. Meanwhile, DeSantis’ Republican colleagues in the state are openly questioning his strategy in the press, saying Disney is “playing the long game” and appears to have the upper hand, for better or for worse.

A former Apple employee has been sentenced to three years in prison and must pay back over $19 million in restitution for stealing around $17 million from the tech giant through mail and wire fraud schemes. Dhirendra Prasad, 55, was originally charged in March 2022 and later pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud Apple and related tax crimes back in November last year.

Williams was described as critical to the development of the high-performance A-series and M-series Apple Silicon chips. He left Apple to start a server chip startup Nuvia. Apple accused him of poaching colleagues for the startup, whilst he was still under Apple’s employ. Lawsuit proceedings began in 2019.

Nuvia was acquired by Qualcomm in 2021. Late last year, The Information cited Nuvia as one reason for a ‘brain drain’ in the Apple silicon engineering group.
