Steven Spielberg, the director of popular movies including E.T. and Schindler’s List, recently argued that streaming service films shouldn’t be eligible for Oscars. However, Netflix isn’t letting this slide: The streaming giant recently posted a Twitter statement that promoted accessibility and diversity in the entertainment industry.

“We love cinema,” Netflix Film wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “Here are some things we also love: Access for people who can’t always afford, or live in towns without, theaters, Letting everyone, everywhere enjoy releases at the same time, [and] giving filmmakers more ways to share art.”
