His research led him in front of a house, in a neighboring municipality near the coast. At 1:30 a.m., the source of the signal was identified, and indisputable… But the unusual time and the absence of a judicial police officer required suspending the hunt: it was impossible to get to know the inhabitants of the house before the next morning.
After a short night’s sleep, our agent resumed his investigation. The occupant of the premises recognized without complexes that he was actually using a jammer bought on the internet! The device in question even turned out to be a multi-band jammer, capable of neutralizing both mobile telephony and WiFi.
Beroende
Today, this father faces legal proceedings, both the illicit possession and use of a jammer being subject to a criminal sanction of up to 6 months in prison and a fine of €30,000[1]. The ANFR officer, in addition to requiring him to turn off the jammer and no longer use it, reminded the equipment owner of the regulatory framework. The latter also had to pay an intervention fee of €450.
ANFR drew up an offence report that it transmitted to the Prosecutor of the Republic of Dax, requesting on this occasion the delivery of the equipment to the security forces or its seizure, the possession of a wave jammer being prohibited.
