MOSCOW (Reuters) – Hackers responsible for a crippling cyber attack on businesses in Ukraine and around the world in June were probably behind a smaller-scale attack on Russia and other countries this week, Russia-based cyber security firm Group-IB said on Thursday.Attacks using malware called BadRabbit hit Russia and other nations on Tuesday, taking down Russia’s Interfax news agency and causing flight delays at Ukraine’s Odessa airport.BadRabbit came on the heels of attacks in May and June that used similar malware and resulted in what some economists estimated are billions of dollars in losses.“It is highly likely that the same group of hackers was behind (the) BadRabbit ransomware attack on Oct. 25, 2017 and the epidemic of the NotPetya virus, whoch attacked the energy, telecommunications and financial sectors in Ukraine in June 2017,” Group-IB said in a technical report.

Tesla factory at center of discrimination lawsuits – Oct. 25, 2017

An assembly line worker says others mocked his pants as “gay tight.”An engineer says she was taunted and catcalled on the factory floor, and was fired from the company after she sued for gender discrimination, including unequal pay.Four lawsuits filed in recent months describe a toxic culture at the plant in Fremont, California, where Tesla manufactures its electric cars and where about 10,000 people work. The suits also make Tesla the latest Silicon Valley company to come under scrutiny after workers alleged discrimination. The best-known example is Uber, where complaints of sexual harassment ultimately forced out the CEO.In statements, Tesla told CNN Tech that it takes all complaints seriously. But it said that, “in the history of Tesla, there has never been a single proven case of discrimination against the company. Not one.”

Reddit has closed down several extremist forums after updating its policy regarding violent content. The newly banned and removed pages include r/NationalSocialism, r/Nazi, r/whitesarecriminals and r/far_right.Reddit’s new policy says: “Do not post content that encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence or physical harm against an individual or a group of people.”One legal expert has said the policy may be difficult to enforce. The updated policy notes that violent content may sometimes be posted as part of educational, newsworthy or artistic material but adds that the context and reason for posting such content should be made clear.Material that glorifies or encourages the abuse of animals, such as bestiality, is also now being removed. In 2015, Reddit updated its policy to deter harassment – a move that resulted in the shutting down of forums including r/fatpeoplehate.
