(Reuters) – Apple Inc forecast current-quarter revenue largely above estimates on Tuesday, helping allay some investor concerns about a possible delay in the launch of the iPhone’s 10th-anniversary edition later this year.Shares of the world’s most valuable technology company, which also reported better-than-expected third-quarter iPhone sales, were up 3.1 percent at $154.64 in extended trading. The launch of the latest iPhone could potentially move to October or November, instead of September, due to production issues, according to media reports and analysts.Apple is widely tipped to adopt higher-resolution OLED displays for the latest iPhone, along with better touchscreen technology and wireless charging – which could come with a $1,000 plus price tag.
THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES has one of the most repressive governments in the world. The Gulf dictatorship brutally cracks down on internal dissent and enables abusive conditions for its massive migrant labor force. It also plays a key role in the bloody war in Yemen, running a network of torture prisons in the liberated parts of the country. That makes it all the more shocking that the UAE is so rarely criticized by leading U.S. think tanks, who not only ignore the Gulf dictatorships repression, but give a privileged platform to its ambassador, Yousef Al-Otaiba. Otaiba is a deeply influential voice in U.S. foreign policy circles, and is known in Washington for using his pocketbook to recruit allies.

When seeing your mother means a trip to prison. By Elizabeth Lo. Read the story here: nyti.ms/2tm4DL4
Mothers Day is a celebration of motherhood and the influence that mothers have on society. But for too many American children including those I filmed for this project the holiday serves as a bitter reminder that their mothers are locked behind bars.
This film follows an overnight bus program that takes some of those children to visit their parents in California prisons during the weekends around Mothers Day (they coordinate similar trips for Fathers Day). Journeys can be as long as ten hours one-way at the end of which children get to spend a few precious hours with their mothers.
