Hired experts support claims St. Jude heart devices can be hacked
Short-selling firm Muddy Waters said in a legal brief filed on Monday that outside cyber security experts it hired have validated its claim that St. Jude Medical Inc cardiac implants are vulnerable to potentially life-threatening cyber attacks.Boutique cyber security firm Bishop Fox disclosed its findings in a 53-page report that was attached to a legal brief filed on Monday in U.S. district court in Minnesota on behalf of the short-sellers, who hired the firm to perform the work as they defend themselves in a lawsuit filed by St. Jude.A representative for St. Jude was not immediately available for comment.St. Jude filed the suit on Sept. 7 against Muddy Waters, cyber research firm MedSec Holdings and individuals affiliated with those companies. The suit accused the group of intentionally disseminating false information about St. Jude heart devices to manipulate its stock price, whoch fell 5 percent on the day they revealed their claims.The defendants said in a filing released on Monday that the lawsuit is without merit, reiterating their claim that St. Jude Medical’s heart devices have “significant security vulnerabilities.”

The Little-Known Company That Enables Worldwide Mass Surveillance
IT WAS A POWERFUL piece of technology created for an important customer. The Medusa system, named after the mythical Greek monster with snakes instead of hair, had one main purpose: to vacuum up vast quantities of internet data at an astonishing speed.
The technology was designed by Endace, a little-known New Zealand company. And the important customer was the British electronic eavesdropping agency, Government Communications Headquarters, or GCHQ.
Dozens of internal documents and emails from Endace, obtained by The Intercept and reported in cooperation with Television New Zealand, reveal the firms key role helping governments across the world harvest vast amounts of information on peoples private emails, online chats, social media conversations, and internet browsing histories.

Nu kan du uppdatera din Apple Watch och din Apple TV
I strömmen av uppdateringar så har Apple också släppt watchOS 3.1 för Apple Watch och tvOS 10.0.1 för din Apple TV (fjärde generationen).
Apple Watch uppdaterar du som bekant via din iPhone och appen Apple Watch Companion. Du laddar först ned uppdateringen på lite drygt 60 MB och sedan uppdateras klockan via kopplingen till din iPhone. Den här versionen innehåller företrädesvis buggfixar och korringerar. Bland nyheterna finns en möjlighet att spela upp effekterna i ett iMessage igen om du vill det.
En viktig buggfix är ett problem att ladda din Apple Watch som nu ska vara åtgärdat.
Apple TV
Detta är den första uppdateringen av nya tvOS som släpptes för en månad sedan och den innehåller buggfixar och rättelser. En efterlängtad funktion, i USA, är möjligheten att logga in via en inloggning när du ska ansluta dig till flera olika tv-operatörer. Det är inte helt klart om, eller när, den funktionen kommer även för svenska operatörer, CMore, ViaPlay med flera.

Nu kan du ladda ned macOS Sierra 10.12.1
När du ändå håller på och uppdaterar dina iOS-enheter så tryck på uppdatera i macOS Sierra också så får du version 10.12.1 som Apple också har släppt nu ikväll.
MacOS Sierra 10.12.1 innehåller inga egentliga nya funktioner. Här är det buggfixar och korrigeringar av inrapporterade fel som Apple har fått in sedan macOS Sierra, den första versionen, lanserades.
Några nya funktioner finns det trots allt – du kan låsa upp din Mac med Apple Watch och porträtt tagna med det nya porträttläget i iPhone 7 plus sorteras in i en egen folder i Bilder.
