Peter Thiel faces Silicon Valley backlash after pledging $1.25m to Trump
Tech billionaire Peter Thiels reported $1.25m contribution to Donald Trumps presidential campaign has prompted a high-profile Silicon Valley organization to cut ties with a startup incubator backed by the Republican donor.
Ellen Pao, a former Reddit executive and vocal advocate for diversity in tech, has announced that her group Project Include is ending its relationship with Y Combinator, the well-known startup accelerator where Thiel is a part-time partner.
Thiels actions are in direct conflict with our values at Project Include, Pao wrote on Monday, referring to the not-for-profit group that she and a group of prominent Silicon Valley women formed earlier this year to push for diversity and inclusion solutions in the tech industry.
Because of his continued connection to YC [Y Combinator], we are compelled to break off our relationship with YC. We hope this situation changes, and that we are both willing to move forward together in the future. Today it is clear to us that our values are not aligned, Pao continued.

Apple bekräftar event den 27 oktober
Ryktena visade sig stämma. Nu sent på onsdagskvällen, svensk tid, kom bekräftelsen att Apple kommer att arrangera en keynote den 27 oktober.
Inbjudningarna har skickats ut och de visar en del av ett äpple med texten Hello Again. Ska vi tro på resten av alla rykten så kommer Apple att visa upp en ny modell av macBook Pro, 13- och 15-tum, med retina-skärm, ny hårdvara och en LED-panel.
Apple uppges också komma med en uppdaterad 13.tums MacBook Air medan 11.6-tums modellen läggs ned och försvinner.

No signal from European Schiaparelli Mars lander
The European Space Agency is still waiting for confirmation that its Schiaparelli probe has landed on Mars.The saucer-shaped robot was supposed to have touched down on the Red Planet just before 1500 GMT (1600 BST).A radio transmission that should have allowed scientists to follow the probe to the surface was not received.Controllers hope that satellites in orbit at Mars will have detected it and will shortly be able to confirm that the probe got down safely.Landing on Mars is always a daunting prospect.It is a high-speed approach that has to be got just right or the spacecraft runs the risk of crashing into the ground.Schiaparelli had a heatshield, a parachute and rocket thrusters to try to get itself to the surface intact.
