Drones seized over HMP Pentonville carrying drugs and phones
Drones carrying large amounts of drugs and mobile phones have been intercepted by police as they were being flown near a north London jail.One device crashed after it was tracked flying over HMP Pentonville on 14 August, while another drone was seized mid-flight later the same day.On 13 August, a man was spotted by officers acting suspiciously near the prison. He fled but dropped two bags of class B drugs and phones.No arrests have been made.
Det Ch Insp Steve Heatley said the drones “carried a substantial amount of class B drugs, legal highs and a large quantity of mobile phones”.
“We are able to intercept them thanks to the vigilance of officers and the public,” he said.

Can political apps send more young people to the polls?
Young people between the ages of 18 and 35 make up about 31% of the eligible voting population in the US, and they will soon be the largest group in the electorate.Although they frequently talk about politics online, these so-called ‘millennials’ are traditionally less likely to vote than older people.Developers have created a host of new apps targeting this age group.But are they enough to encourage the smartphone generation to become more politically engaged?
‘Tinder for politics’
Apps like Voter build on existing formats to introduce users to political candidates who align with their own beliefs.
Created by 26-year-old web developer Hunter Scarborough, Voter allows users to swipe left and right through a number of political candidates until they find the ideal match.

Apple Music festival startar i London i september
Apple Music festival återvänder till London och startar den 10 september.
Festivalen hålls även i år i the London Roundhouse. En lokal som Apple skjutit till pengar för att renovera upp.

Generalstrejk på Tor
Flera av noderna på Tor och medlemmarna av nätverket vill utlysa en generalstrejk den 1 september som en protest hur Tor har hanterat skandalen med Jacob Appelbaum som anklagas för en rad sexuella övergrepp.
Gruppen bakom kravet protesterar också mot att Tor värvat en fd CIA-anställd. Ett beslut som tog även de anställda med överraskning eftersom ledningen inom Tor inte meddelade det i förväg. Diskussionen intrent inom Tor har läckt ut i form av en större loggfil från när beslutet blev känt.
